What's New at Arnaby?

Here we will keep you posted on how we are doing. Check back often for What's New at Arnaby Farm.

New for 2009

Arnaby Farm enjoyed another great year in 2009.

Kariadd and Courtney had a very successful summer and were reserve zone champions on the "A" circuit, they enjoyed great success at the Royal winning an over fences class and placing 3rd in another. A little bit of bad luck in the hack stopped the pair from earning more ribbons. They enjoyed a great year together winning many championships in the small pony division on the "A" circuit. We wish Courtney all the best on her large pony and also on Rotherwood Penny Bit as she takes the ride for the 2009 year.

Four of the Floor did us very proud by winning the small pony championship at the Ontario Trillium Championships in September, an outstanding achievement as this was his first year showing at any level, he also did very well at the "A" shows he attended, winning over fences and pinning in the hack.

Mynach Jolly Roger had a great season too, and made us very proud by winning his first ever hack class on the "A" circuit out of 40 ponies, he now will be campaigned in the medium pony division.

Sing-a-Song had a great year too and has now retired to Arnaby to begin her broodmare career, she will be bred in the spring to Mynach Mystical.

We look forward to a new show season and a very busy one. We plan on showing Penny, Sofia, Jolly and Prue on the "A" circuit, some in the core divisions and some in the green pony. We also plan to show a number of Bo Jangle off spring in the sport pony classes with the hope of getting some of them to the Royal. Also keep an eye out for Mynach Mystical and his offspring to make a debut into the showing world, Sunshine and Samson will show sport pony and Mystical himself will be aimed at the welsh classes.

It is certainly going to be a very busy year for us, we will be standing 3 stallions for the 2009 season, Rotherwood Bo Jangle, Arnaby Finest Hour and Mynach Mystical.

Summer 2008

Yet again the ponies from Arnaby Farm are having a great year. Lets start with Krypton Kariadd and her young rider Courtney Bacso, what an amazing summer they are having. Currently standing in second place in the zone on the 'A' circuit, they were champion small pony at their last two shows. Congratulations to Courtney on her great riding and success, not bad considering this is her first year showing Kariadd and the small pony division.

Now lets move onto Four on the Floor (Jack). We knew Jack was a very talented pony but figured this would be a learning year for him considering he has never show at all. Well, Jack has proven us all wrong and is having a fabulous year under the guidance of Lindsay Corbett. Currently the pair stand in first place on the SW trillium circuit and have made their debut onto the "A" circuit in fine form. A big congratulations to the pair for getting several calls at the Palgrave shows, again a great accomplishment for Lindsay whom has never show at that level and also for Jack who is in his first year of showing at any level.

Mynach Jolly Roger is also enjoying a great summer, Jolly has shown schooling pony on the SW trillium circuit and made his debut on the "A" circuit in children's pony under the careful and talented guidance of Dominique Filippi. Jolly was certainly the talk of the town when he won the hack out of 40 ponies at his first "A" show. We had many inquiries on this stunning pony whom as one lady put it "he is a real show stopper". Jolly continued his winning ways the next week by winning an over fences class and placing high again in the hack. A big thank you to Dominique who spent many hours working with Jolly whom was a very green pony when she took the ride in January.

Rotherwood Penny Bit, another very green pony that is doing us proud on the show circuit. Penny produced a stunning colt foal for us last year and has now proven herself as a great hunter pony. Only started last fall, Penny came out this spring and trucked around the short stirrup courses like she had been showing for years, a real testament to her sweet temperament. Penny was under the guidance of Sara Dooreleyers and the pair have enjoyed a successful summer considering neither of them have shown at this level. Sara is a beautiful rider with many years of success ahead of her and we were very lucky to have her ride Penny for us. A big thank you to Sara for her great riding and wonderful care of Penny.

Yealand Sing-a-Song. Well what can we say about Singy, this pony has been out on the show circuit since her arrival from England, she is the most consistent and solid pony anyone could ask for. Singy has taken her current rider from a very cautious short stirrup rider to a cautious small pony rider in the two years she has spent with Mckenzie. McKenzie has also had a successful year on Singy and are currently poised to attend the Trillium Championships in Palgrave. Congratulations McKenzie on your great year and we wish you all the best with your new pony for next year as you move onto a medium. Singy will return to Arnaby Farm where she will enjoy a nice long break before she starts her new career as a broodmare for Arnaby Farm.

Unfortunately we did not make it out to the Sport Pony shows this year as we found ourselves trying to get hay between the thunderstorms and we also suffered a family loss when my uncle passed away. My main helper spent most of the summer in England with her brother and mother and I must admit I am very happy to have mum back. We will be out in full force next year with a string of Rotherwood Bo Jangle babies to be show.
BO himself has enjoyed a gentleman's life this year, just happily grazing in his paddock and looking after his visiting mares. He will again be offered at stud for the 2009 season. As you will see from the foals and youngstock page we are very fortunate to own such a wonderful stallion. I have no doubt that he will continue to sire top class babies.

Well, I think that is it for now, looking forward to seeing everybody at the Trillium championships and the final two Palgrave shows and of course the Royal Winter Fair.
